Simple AI , glowing effect ??

hi all :) how is it going

i almost finish my First game ever :D but got stuck in some parts here and there :( some of them i've managed to correct some of them i plan to search on youtube for better tutorials ...But some i just couldn't find how to make

first of them was the AI ... i sure know how to make the enemy run after my character but i want it to walk from left to right in the path and if the character gets near it and at it's face it follows him until he gets out of the original path and not to chase him all the map long until it gets him (which of course we don't want to happen >:D don't we ? )

Second of all is the glowing effect on the material ,,,, i know there are million of topics about that ...but 30 % of them are outdated 40 % are telling u how to make it by applying some image effect ,(i am not saying it didn't work it WORKED but it made all my scene look really really bad {With jerad leto's sound :D }) so i am just asking if there any way to make a single material look glowing like Blender (i originally made all my models and materials in belnder but was shocked to know they don't work probably in unity :( )

yeah, so that's all of it xD i am REally sorry for making it really long but i just wanted to give you all the information i know about my problem :) i wish i get some replys on my topic :( i am really tired of modeling and such things and when i finished most work i found that the materials don't work !
