STUCK: First Person controller falls out of the world ONLY in built game
Up until recently, every aspect of my game was functioning the way it should. After I added some 3D props to one of my scenes, I started experiencing a problem where my game would play fine in playmode in the editor, but in my built application the player would fall straight through the ground and all objects, out of the world, as soon as the scene loaded.
I fixed the issue once by making mesh colliders on those props NOT convex and another time by setting the compression quality of one of their textures to Normal Quality. Now I'm hitting the issue again, but there are no errors in my console logs to suggest whether it's a mesh or a texture issue, or something else completely. With all my latest changes, the game still runs fine when played in the editor but I get the same annoying problem.
Has anyone seen this issue before, or does someone know what might cause discrepancies between my project in-editor and my built game? Two weeks ago this game worked just fine and this has become ridiculously frustrating. Every post says to check whether there are colliders on the terrain and objects plus a rigidbody on the player, and to make sure the player is above the ground - if it were that simple I wouldn't be searching this hard for the answer. I also know it isn't that because those elements all worked and I haven't changed them (I've also made sure nothing else changed them). I've also kept a log of my recent changes, I've tried removing and changing and undoing things every which way, but there's no way past this for me right now. Please help.
