Robotic Arm controlled Externally?
I am working with robotic arms. I need some software that can be used to visualize the robotic model and turn the various robotic joints while being driven from an external application (e.g., python, C++). This means that the external application would command those joint movements and the robotic model in the visualizer would show the joints moving. It needs to run under Red Hat 7.3. It needs to show real-time updates (say 5 Hz rate). I would think that Unity could easily do 5 Hz, but I am uncertain about the rest. Any thoughts?,

Well setting up a robotic model and controlling the joints shouldn't be an issue. However you probably will have issues running a build on Red Hat. Officially Unity only supports Ubuntu and Debian derived distros. Though i have to admit i don't have much experience with Linux in general. Maybe it runs on RedHat as well.
Your question is very abstract and general (as opposed to be specific and detailed). I'm not sure what you expect as answer. Visualizing a robotic model is possible. Communication with other applications is also possible through various ways. The best compatibility would be sockets.
