What are possible sources for games' algorithms?
Hi, Learning Unity itself is an issue, and implementing a specific game-play into unity is another advanced one but depends on the first issue. So that, we do not need to reinvent the wheel.
Say I want to make a card game , a puzzle game, etc ; How do I have to approach the problem, from where I start. Are there books that teach game-related algorithms like searching,AI, etc...?
For example, some things become by experience, others by trial and error, others by some kind of intelligent trick, (notice all of these consume time relatively). So, in a nutshell:
Are there sources that teach game-related algorithms?
Thanks
You're going to have to narrow it down a bit, as pretty much anything one does in program$$anonymous$$g involves an algorithm. Are you looking for AI approaches? Sorting? Procedural generation? Steering? etc. The shotgun approach to questions rarely yields good specific answers.

UnityAnswers is really for Unity-specific Questions.
In all seriousness - go to StackOverflow, go to the Tags tab and search on the Tag game. You will see tags on game-design, game-logic, game-development, game-theory...
Or post this Question there, you'll get a ton of answers.
From the first 5 pages (out of 34 pages) of a StackOverflow search for game algorithms:
Hi I expected such an answer from some members, but I think such a question is related to game development and unity is used for game development, thus it is related (at least) in an indirect way to unity.
In addition , I think answering such a question would benefit new comers through self learning, increase the number of experienced users, and reduce the number of related question in unity answers.
For example, A* algorithm is a general algorithm that can be used in robotics and other game engines, but there are answers, discussions and implementations of A* in Unity.
Notice that the question is asking about the sources of learning, no more than that.
@boribhi, it's not that it is a bad Question, or I'd have downvoted it. And true, there are other Questions that are not directly Unity-related that are very popular (see the $$anonymous$$usic for Games post). But I was serious about StackOverflow being a much better place for that kind of question. First, they already have a lot of general game-related topics (such as a-star) that are not specific to any system. Second, they have a much larger population, you'll get better answers, faster, for that type of question. So yes, it belongs on SO, not UA.
