Building a large mansion

Hello

Prob the wrong place to ask this, but didn't really now where to ask, and i tought most of the people here are using software like Maya and 3Ds Max.

Kinda having a issue.. Im creating a game that takes place at a Insane Asylum, and im done with main menu and first player controller and stuff like that. So i've started to make the asylum now, but im having so much problem.. Im trying to create the whole asylum in one piece in Maya, the problem aint the outside, but the inside, like adding another floor and stairs and stuff like that. It's so hard to scroll inside the building and see what im doing :S Is there any better way to do this?

I would love some ides :)

There is no easy way of creating a lage scale scene. (sorry to be the one how tells you the bad news). The best way is to be organised!

1) Try putting the outer walls and each floor in a seperate layer (Max layer not unity layers), that way you can hide the necessary layer(geometry) in order to get a better view of what you are working on.

2) Another way is to build / model each floor in a sapereate scene file, and later on bring them together in unity.

anyway I do recommend you to be very organised and to cearfully name each of the geometry objects. This helps when working on large scale scenes.

Good luck!
