What is Gi Cache

Hi friends, I want to know aobut Gi Cache.

I am Using a Macbook pro 15 250GB so I am always low on memory space.

but I had noticed that there is a folder named Gi caches made my Unity so I want to know that what it is what is Gi cache what is it's use and what if I delete it will it create any kind of problem.

Please help.
