3D isometric camera in a city environment
Hi! How about this: you have 3D old GTA-like game in a city with tall buildings. But your camera is isometric. How do you deal with player/objects hidden behind buildings? Is there any ideal way? Make building blockings the view transparent? That might look bad. Include camera rotation? That would be probably hell for the player to control. Or change control scheme to RTS style + camera rotation? Or screw isometric camera and make it top down? Any ideas? Articles? Good examples of various solutions?
Well, it's your game idea, so we don't know what your game should look like. Obviously an isometric view makes not much sense if you have tall buildings. Free rotating in isometric view is also not really recommended as it just feel wrong.
Since this is not really a question that has a clear answer and at the end you even try to bring up a discuccion / suggestions, I highly recommend you ask that on the Unity forum. UA is a Q&A site. Discussions, opinions or ssuggestions do not belong here.
Thanks. Actually you helped me in my brainstor$$anonymous$$g. Sorry for bad placement of my question.
