A 2d grid system for Unity
Foreword: I'm not looking for the "best" grid system. That would only spur arguing/discussion, and end with a mess. Also, I use C#, so code snippets of Javascript/boo may not be understood. - Also, I know that there are a few solutions already, but I've yet to find one that is in the ballpark of what I'm looking for, and hearing that Unity has new 2d support, I'm thinking a more recent solution will be better.
What I'm looking for is a grid-based game with a top down view, similar to Battalion: Nemesis. I'm looking for a system where I could press down once, and it would check what's below me, and if it's clear ground then I'll move down one. If it's not, I won't move at all(same for other directions). I'm willing to use almost any system that can do the such(such as a sprite sheet system) and design other things like combat myself.
I can provide more info/answer questions if the need arises. Until then, looking forward to responses~
