Vuforia: Keep object in fixed position (certain coordinates) with Image Tracker as trigger

I've been struggling with this for a few days and hope someone can help me out. I am using an ImageTarget with Vuforia to allow a certain object to pop up whenever the ImageTarget is on the screen, however, I don't want the object to track and follow the image around, which it does perfectly fine. I want the object to show up in a certain fixed position relative to the World Centre every time the image shows up. Is this possible?

I have tried adding the "activate trigger" script to the object and placing the ImageTarget as the target so that the object pops up in its position without moving, but I guess the ImageTarget is nothing visible or tangible to trigger the object to activate. I've only used these actions in VR so I'm not sure how it all works in AR with Vuforia.
