Unity 4.5.5f1 freezes whenever I left click something (OS Yosemite)

Whenever I left click in the editor it freezes unity for about 3 minutes, makes doing anything impossible. And I can't update because I need this specific version for my class.... I was just wondering if anyone knows a fix or something.

Is this at run-time or not? Is upgrading your OS an option?
