Can I use AR to find new bullet holes in target viewed on webcam or cell phone camera?

I've written a program years ago that viewed the webcam and compared the current image to a previous image, to identify new holes in the target, and tracked the position and order. But now I want to do it using a cell phone (android). Rather than trying to do that code again, by hand, which didn't really allow for much movement in the target image, can I use AR Foundation to track changes in the image? I mean, if it can find your eyes and place cartoon eyes over them in realtime, it seems like it should be able to find bullethole (black spots) on a target (white paper).

Any suggestions?
