Asset Store Payout - Cheapest way to get EURO's

Hi everyone,

I live in Europe and want to sell assets on the asset store. I thought about what's the cheapest way to get the dollars payed by Unity Technologies to Euros.

I heard that converting USD to EUR via Paypal can get quite expensive due to abysmal currency exchange rates of Paypal. If you choose to be paid via wire by Unity, you may get better exchange rates but Untiy charges you a fee of 20$ and you only get payed quarterly instead of monthly.

So I thought about what if you combine both methods. You create a PayPal account that receives USD and then transfer the USD to a USD bank account opened in your country.

[Unity Technologies] --> [PayPal (USD)] --> [USD Bank Account] --> [EUR Bank Account]

And then you have the regular exchanges rates of the USD bank account opened in your country.

I just wanted to ask if somebody from Europe is doing it that way? Would PayPal charge you something in that case (transaction fee for receiving the money from Unity or a fee for the transfer to the USD bank account)?

So to get your money from Unity, all you would have to pay is related to the USD Bank Account (which may be cheap depending on your bank).

What payment method do you use and do you think that my idea above is a good idea?

Thanks for sharing your experiences!
