How to fetch and attach SVN revision number to client build
We are using SVN version control system with Unity. I'd like to be able to make a build of our game client and have it automatically fetch the current revision number during build process and store it to the client. When client is run you should be able to see GUI label with that number in lower right part of the screen (ex. Build 158).
My problem is, how do I get the revision number automatically during build process and store it into client executable to be used when launched?
I have the exact same question and that's why I am here. $$anonymous$$alapropos, I would like to know if did you find any answer that you can share.
So far, I haven't found anything satisfactory. I've looked into http://docs.unity3d.com/412/Documentation/ScriptReference/BuildPipeline.BuildPlayer.html and thought about making a C# script that extracts the current revision number, saves it into a file and copies that to go along with the executable. However, this is a Unity pro feature and I do not have a pro license. If you do, maybe that'll work for you.
