How do you open the Player Log?
The documentation shows that there should be a button on the top of the console window to pull up the player log, however I do not have this feature on my setup. I have Unity version 4.5.4 and Windows 8. Is this a problem with Windows 8 or is there another way to pull up the player log?

You can access the EditorLog by clicking on the 3 lines in the top right of the console window, but you cant open the PlayerLog from the editor.
Go to "EXECNAME_Data_\output_log.txt" to open the PlayerLog. (EXECNAME_Data is a folder next to the executable with your game.)
Yeah, that's what the documentation says too, but I don't have any such folder or txt file anywhere. I've searched my whole computer several times. Is it possible they just took out the option to open the player log? I just want to see what order my functions are being called in without having to put a Debug.Log in every single one every time I want to check something.
you have to build out the game first. Next to the "NA$$anonymous$$$$anonymous$$exe" there will be a "NA$$anonymous$$E_Data" folder. the player log is inside that folder.
Ah. Thanks. Sorry for the late response, but for some reason I don't seem to be getting email notifications here when people comment. Only when they post answers.
Anyway, so I did find the output_log.txt but if that's the player log then maybe that's not what I was looking for. Both the editor log and the player log seem to have a bunch of jibberish when I open them. What I'm looking for is a log of the functions that were called during the previous run time so I can see where errors are occurring in my scripts. Thanks for responding!

If you're looking for the unity editor log, it's located in the following folder :
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Unity\Editor
If it's for a standalone build, the others answers are right. However we noticed that some of our users needs to launch the built exe with administrator rights to get the log file.
Hope it helps !

I can open the editor log from the console window, but it doesn't seem to be very helpful. I don't see AppData listed under \$$anonymous$$yUserName\AppData in my folders. $$anonymous$$ight it be called something else? I did find the output_log.txt by creating a build first as mentioned above.
So if you try to launch it without ad$$anonymous$$istrator rights does it just not open? Or would it give you a bunch of computer text? Cause that's what I'm getting right now. I can't really make out what most of it means. What I'm looking for is a log of the functions that were called during the previous run time so I can see where errors are occurring in my scripts. And thanks for the response!
