Question by G54 · Nov 17, 2011 at 04:19 AM · camerabackgroundcullingoverlay

Camera Culling mask/ background color issue.

Hey Unity community,

I have been able to figure things out on my own lately as I have become more experienced with unity. The only thing that has continually stumped me is as follows:

I have my main camera and sometimes on the scene load it displays the solid background color and any GUI, but no 3D objects. I found that it is just the background color overlaying all of the objects, and as soon as you move the mouse it normally goes away! The problem is sometimes it doesn't go away and for basic Aesthetic reasons.

Basically my quesion is how do I stop this from happening? Please note it only happens sometimes.

Thanks in advanced, Mike Gillett

Have you accidentally disabled all the layers on the camera? Have a look at the culling mask on the cam.

This is the only scene that this happens in. Could it have anything to do with the camera being instatiated at runtime? Also does the camera setting sky box, depth only, solid color, etc make a difference. Also I have checked the culling and its set the same as my other cameras. Ps thanks for the quick responses.

Im having sort of the same problem right now. I was apply the Penelope tutorial to my project to get 2 joysticks to control the player and camera. Part of the tutorial was deleting the $$anonymous$$ain Camera and creating a new one. Well, after I implemented my controls and camera, I ran my project and now all but my player, my joysticks and part of my skybox (from the left side of my left joystick onward to the left side of the screen) is only visible. The rest of the scene is solid black. I checked my culling mask and it is the same as any other project.
