A way for mesh deformation ?
So as mentioned in question , have any of you guys worked on mesh deformation of cars in game. If yes , then can u direct me to the link or the way i could learn too. Even a little help is appreciated.
Excluding any existing frameworks that might exist to do this sort of thing for you.
The most obvious way to me would be to learn how to manipulate mesh vertices using UnityEngine.$$anonymous$$esh class.
Once you're able to do that, try getting the vertices close to an physics impact, vertices closer to the impact are deformed more and those further away are less deformed. For more realistic deformation you tend to want your mesh to be built up of several sub meshes so that you can do more interesting things.
Think a bumper of a car, if it lightly bumps into something, usually only the bumper will have some deformation and eventually might fall off if it's too damaged.
A lot of it depends on what you're trying to deform, to what degree and how realistic you want it.
