Building a Level
Hi there,
I ran into a problem concerning the asset creation of levels. I heard about SketUp as a very good tool to create basic level designs, and edit them further in more complex tools.
I used SketchUp (+PlayUp UnityPackage) to import a test level. The problem is, that some of the levels "planes"/sides do not have a collider even if I added one. It seems like the inside of the level is like the inside of a box object, so the player can walk through, even if a collider is applied. If I let the player start outside of the level, the collider works, but this is absolutly not what I want to happen.

Make thick(er) walls and make sure the normals are facing the right direction. Don't use paper thick walls.
Sometimes when you extrude planes in Sketchup, the normals invert, making the walls only visible in the inside (which also affects the physics engine. You may notice in sketch up that some of your walls are blue when you extrude them. That is a sign that the normals are inverted. You can Fix this by selecting the planes that are blue.
Example:
To fix this, Go to Edit - Faces - Reverse faces.
Make sure to select all the blue faces first of course!
Another thing is that some materials have 2 sided faces. If you are doing levels that deal with walking in and out of buildings, you may want to add thickness to the walls and apply different textures to both sides.
If you are not concerned with the exterior of the level, ten just have all the normals reverse towards the inside. (i.e: make them all "blue")
