Unity Editor has stopped working" in Windows 8

Hello there,

I am currently using Windows 8 and have just tried to download and use Unity 5 for the 7th time, every time I start up the program however, I get an error message saying "Unity Editor has stopped working" in a dialogue box that gives me the option to 'Debug' or 'Close Program' Please can I have some assistance with this? i am eager to use the program and am frustrated that I can't. I also cannot find anything on your community forum that solves this.
