Win7 64bit - Unity Freezing but not crashing
I just got a new laptop with Win7 64bit, and a good hardware (a lot better then the one I used Unity with, but had winXP)
But when I open it (even in a new project), everything in the Editor screen is really slow. after 2 clicks, it freezes. But if I maximize the screen the action that i took before works fine, until the next 2 clicks, then it freezes again. Then I have to de-maximize to make it work again.
It's impossible to work like this.
I already killed lots of parallel tasks and nothing changed.
Does anybody has any idea how to fix this?
Thank you.
(I'm starting to think it will only be fixed with a 64bit version of Unity)
Changing the Performance settings on the Catalyst Control Center doesn't worked for me either.

Guys, After a lucky strike, I changed the Performance settings on the Catalyst Control Center of my Radeon video card from HIGH PERFORMANCE to ENERGY SAVING.
For some weird reason, IT WORKED. Unity is now workable, but I still need to check its performance when dealing with large projects.
I think that, until then, Unity64 will be out, and probably this problem will go away.
i meet the same problem too,my laptop is lenovo ,os is win7 64,when i click the project window ,it's freeze,i follow your step to change the setting in ccc ,it works fine. you solve my problem
thanks
