I just upgraded a 2D project from Unity 4 to Unity 5 and nothing shows in the Scene

The project had a 2D view in the Unity 4 scene view. When I upgraded to Unity 5, everything disappeared. However when I compile to my iOS device everything renders fine.

What could have gone wrong here?
