Compiling +- 12 scripts and a few standart assets take 30-60 seconds
Later today I could run the game in a matter of seconds, now, somehow, it takes very long to compile all my scripts and run the game. Any idea what would've caused this?

This was an external cause, notting to do with Unity. Found this out after restarting my computer several times !
Did you ever find out specifically what the issue was? I'm on a $$anonymous$$acBook, and I'm struggling through this exact issue. Thanks!

If several of the scripts have other scripts as public variables and you are calling functions and changing variables in them, this will slow it down. I had this same problem with my first game and it took me a long time to figure out why it was stalling on "Building assets for scene 0" for minutes.
Make everything you can private, and find the scripts in Awake(); and it should compile a lot faster.
I have no script with a public script or object instance of another script at the moment, so I doubt if that would do the trick, but I'll look for it, thanks :)
