Projection of Swipe Onto Character Plane (Perspective)
This problem is a little difficult to explain, but I'm going to give it my best!
My Goal: Allow the user to swipe the screen creating a trail then moving that trail back in space into the player's horizontal plane. However, there seems to be heavy distortion with the perspective of the line. Does anyone know how to orthographically project a point from perspective screen space on to a plane?
It sounds like a standard screen ray cast (onto flat ground, possibly an invisible non-colliding collider.) Sure, if you know it's a always one plane, you could compute the projection yourself, but the raycast is easy enough, and is pretty much doing the same math.
How is this problem different?
