Question by Sylafrs · Nov 19, 2013 at 01:16 PM · networkwebplayersocket

PrefetchSocketPolicy. The server is not mine. How can I talk to him using .NET Sockets ?

Hello,

I'm currently trying to create a Unity Webplayer program that talks with a server using HACP (HTTP-AICC protocol). It works fine in Standalone but not in Webplayer due to a certain file I should store in the server.

The problem ? The server (LMS) is not mine, I just can't store the file needed. (moreover I still don't understand that security (more exactly 'why').)

(Just like if you wanted to create an online SMTP program.. with particles.. LOOOTS of particles ! °w°)

Anyway.. Is there a solution to avoid this exception ?

Thanks in advance ! :D

Sylafrs.

NB : Yeah, I've already read http://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/Manual/SecuritySandbox.html

NB 2 : I want to use the port 80, but I don't want to use the WWW class.

NB 3 (^^) : Yeah, webplayer ^^'

I've just tried using the 843 port.. but nc just informed me that on this port, we don't need to call that function because.. ..it is automaticly called ! >.<

Damn ^^

the only solution I have is to create a proxy :

$$anonymous$$yUnityApp <----> $$anonymous$$y proxy that gives to $$anonymous$$yUnityApp his policy <----> The server

If I choose this solution, I will give you the code right there (C langage).. the proxy can be local, it's a real simple proxy..

(call proxy on the 843 port, Unity requests the policy, the proxy send him his policy, then we send one line : "AdressPort" and talk to him like it was the real thing..)

......I don't want to do that D': (simple but takes the time I don't necessary have ^^)

Another solution : I use a .exe, not a webplayer but I create a daemon the php script calls using Sockets to not have to use the Webplayer.. ..I don't want to create pollution.. but..
