Subtitle for Video Cinematics with MovieTexture and IphoneUtils.PlayMovie

Good day. I'm developing a game for PC, Mac, and Ipad. I used video files for the cinematics using "MovieTexture" for PC and Mac build and "IphoneUtils.PlayMovie" for Ipad. I'm having a hard time inserting subtitles programmatically for each implementation. In MovieTexture, I can't seem to make a GUIText or TextMesh visible in the scene. In Ipad, the MoviePlayer function pauses Unity during movie playback which means I won't be able to run my code in synch with my video. I just used hard subs for the meantime but this will be a problem once I go through the localization process. Any suggestions to resolve this? Thanks in advance.
