Simple water looking terrain?
Is there a way to make a terrain texture translucent looking like water? I've tried various shaders I found on the web, but they all seem to bee totally transparent. I'm not looking for mesh deformation or water physics as such (plus not the water in the standard assets). The mesh deformation heightmap thing would be nice and come in handy but I can't see this getting that indepth. Thanks anyway.

Try.. Import Standard Assets, Then look for the prefab in /Standard Assets/Water(Basic). You should see two choices. Daylight Simple Water and Nighttime Simple Water.
I did put in the question "not the water in the standard assets" because it isn't flexible enough for what I'm trying to do with it.

There is a standard transparent shader w/unity, it should work.
The Transparent/Diffuse shader option doesn't seem to take any affect on the terrain, but other objects do go transparent with the same material. Are terrain meshes actually supposed to go transparent?
I've now been generating mip maps on the texture and just been trying to tweek the settings in that and now my terrain disappears with the Transparent/Diffuse shader.??
