Question by ExtremePowers · Nov 12, 2014 at 08:15 PM · shaderterraindisablefadegrass

Disable grass fade

How to disable the fade that is on the grass where it is a dark color at the bottom and a bright one at the top. How to disable this and make it bright at the top.

What shader does the grass use, and what would I need to change in it to get a plain color on the grass?

Do not remove o.pos line from the shader since it is related to positioning and not related to color. That line is a must for the shaders to work properly as it is used to pass the vertex position to the fragment function.

The fade that is from the bottom of the texture to the top and settings the colors to the same still gives me that effect.

Tested in a blank scene with Noise Spread 0, healthy/dry same color values and no ambient lightning - no difference between bottom/base. Can you duplicate in a blank scene?

The problem is still there, and it isn't that the grass changes color based on its position, it is that the grass fades from a darker green at the bottom of the billboard, to a lighter green at the top:
