Projector with collision detection
I am projecting hollow 2D shapes on to my environment using the Projector and I need to know which objections this projection collides with.
Is there a way to cast rays along the outline of the projected texture to detect collisions?
sounds expensive. have you tried doing an overlap sphere ins$$anonymous$$d?
@hexagonius Not sure how an overlap sphere would help. For example, if I wanted to perspectively project a star texture shape onto walls of a 3d room, I was thinking of casting 10 rays from the camera, for each of the star's 10 vertices so they lined up with the texture.
Perhaps I am trying to go about it the wrong way. I basically want to know if the projected light texture shape from the first person camera perfectly lines up with another shape on the wall of the 3D room. Can this be done in unity?
