Working with UI as prefab, will change values outside the prefab
So, I have this rather odd problem, and I have had it on two different projects. So either it is a bug, or I am doing something wrong. When ever I work on a GUI prefab, while I work on it, the prefab will stop working at some point, the gui elements will not allign as I tell them to. Example: I will try to allign a gui element to the top left corner, but it will be off, sometimes a little sometimes much (sometimes outside the screen I am working on, so I cannot see it) I would out, that if I then leave the prefab and back to the scene, there will be a lot of overrides - now, if I apply/revert all of these I am able to work on it again for a while, until it breaks again. Have anyone else seen this, and am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?
Could you be switching to 3D mode and then going back to work on it to find that it’s not there?? Because you need to be in 2D mode to edit on the canvas in the scene.
Thanks for the reply, unfortunately, this is not it :( I am doing this in 2d mode only.
Hello.
This can be caused by so many things.
How is the canvas configured? If you pretend us to find something ,we need information... post screenshots of scene, screenshots of canvas inspector, any scrip doing things on the canvas, etc..
Bye.
It is a bit difficult to come up with some screenshots or similar, as this is very basic, and it is something that happens "randomly" But, I guess I should describe a simple reprocase. So, in order to reproduce this you can simply do as follows. 1. Create a new canvas (Screen Space - Camera), and add some images, buttons etc. create a hierarchy of some sort. 2. Add this to your scene 3. Create a prefab of the canvas 4. Edit the prefab from the scene 5. After a while somehow the prefab is overridden in the scene, and working in the prefab becomes unresponsive.
