Displaying text from xml at runtime on different planes

Hi guys,

first at all I have to state I'm a complete noob to scripting. However so far I succeeded on simple tasks like opening / closing doors.

Now the problem:

My project is a test for a 3D indoor navigation.

As the occupancy of the rooms changes and also the employes fluctuate I figured out it would be much more maintenance friendly to feed the text values which describe the room from an external xml at runtime.

My plan was to declare fixed room numbers and feed the room description and occupants dynamically via xml.

Here is a example of some entries in my xml:

 <?xml version="1.0"?>
 <roomdescription>
    <room id="001">
       <department>Development I</department>
       <occupants>Martin, Mario</occupants>
    </room>
    <room id="002">
       <department>Development II</department>
       <occupants>Peter, Markus</occupants>
    </room>
 </roomdescription>

Could anyone please give me a hint to solve this?

What is the problem you are having? What's not working? Are you having problems reading the xml? or???

I guess it is a beginner problem: How do I read the data from the xml and display specific values like the subnodes of room 001 ingame?
