Question by CookieSteve · Jan 24, 2017 at 11:56 AM · dllxml.netlibrary

The classes in the module cannot be loaded?

I'm trying to use this .net library in my project. I've placed the dll and the xml files from netDxf_2.0.2\bin\Release into my project's Assets\Plugins folder, but when I go to the Unity window, it gives me this error:

Unhandled Exception: System.Reflection.ReflectionTypeLoadException: The classes in the module cannot be loaded.

Missing method .ctor in assembly H:\...\Assets\Plugins\netDxf.dll, type System.Runtime.Versioning.TargetFrameworkAttribute
The class System.Runtime.Versioning.TargetFrameworkAttribute could not be loaded, used in netDxf
Can't find custom attr constructor image: H:\...\Assets\Plugins\netDxf.dll mtoken: 0x0a00000f

Is this problem related to the framework used to develop the library (.NET Framework 4.5)? Is it just incompatible with Unity? Or is it a different problem altogether?

For the record, my 'Api Compatibility Level' is set to '.NET 2.0'. Not sure if that's relevant or not.

Do you also get a netDxf.pdb file with the download if so also copy that into the plugins. Also go to "Edit->Project Settings->Player-> Other settings" and set "Api Compatibility Level" to ".NET 2.0" ins$$anonymous$$d of ".NET 2.0 Subset" if its not already selected.

There's a .pdb file in the Debug folder ins$$anonymous$$d of the Release folder. I wasn't sure if it was necessary, but I included it nonetheless.

Like I said in the main post, my Api Compatibility Level is already set to '.NET 2.0', so that isn't the problem.

This is an old question but from my knowledge. Unity works with NET 3.5 so you need to rebuilt the dll file
