Question by LieutenantIvan · Aug 18, 2016 at 05:17 AM · buildwindows-standalone

No Windows Build Support

I was going to build my game as a windows standalone, only to say 'no modules installed'; I could only build a web player. I look for a solution online to re install the download manager from the unit website and only check the module I want in the setup. However, there is no windows build support, there is Mac, Android, Linux, etc. Please help as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.

Use the "UnityDownloadAssistant-5.4.0f3.exe" and run it again. There should be a module for Windows build support. If not its already installed. At least I cant remember I clicked on it while updateing from Unity 5.3 to 5.4.

I used to be able to build to standalones, now I can't. I uninstalled and reinstalled. I tried everything and I still can't build a windows standalone.

This is what I am talking about! When I reinstall it, and there is a check list for modules to be reinstalled; there is no Windows build support!

PC, $$anonymous$$AC and Standalone is a default option so no need to install a module for it.

Windows extra support is Windows Store .NET and Windows Store IL2CPP as selectable modules.

Perhaps install the $$anonymous$$AC and Linux options. $$anonymous$$aybe its required. Point is, you are installing on Windows so its kind-of assumed. Perhaps the other two need to be installed to enable the PC, $$anonymous$$AC, SA option.

Just ran into this myself. There is no checkbox.

The solution, indeed, is to reinstall unity, as administrator. I just ran the install.bat as admin and it works OK.
