Android OS Support

Question

I'm trying to work out what version of Android Unity supports but having difficulty finding any references to this on the Unity website.

Probably missing an obvious link but I cant find it....

I believe it's 2.0.1 "Eclair" and up, is there anything specific you were looking for?

Trying to work out whats the lowest common deno$$anonymous$$ator. Strangly when I tried pointing at platforms it said 4.0 was the lowest number and that seems very recent so I assumed I'm doing something silly...

Yes to specific, the Inspector says 2.0.1 as being listed as the earliest release but if I do a build it says it needs 4.0. Hence the confusion. It could well be that 4.0 takes care of backwards compatibility, I dont know.

You probably need to update all your API's within the Android SD$$anonymous$$ $$anonymous$$anager. I had the same message pop up when I upgraded to Unity 3.5, and it went away after updating all my Android API assets. As a base, yes, 2.0.1 should be the LCD.

Yep, I've built the package. Ive got an "AP$$anonymous$$". (Ok, embarrassing admission, I don’t actually have an Android device so I got nothing to try it on)

But I take it from what you just said that I can build it on 4.0 Platform but leave the base as 2.0.1 and all is good?

Ok, the latest SD$$anonymous$$ is good for building backwards compatible versions. Had someone try it on an older OS.
