export: missing files, from mac to pc
using unity 4.2.1 my friend and I have encountered a problem bouncing project files back and forth to each other. most notably is when he sends me a package. every piece of the project is selected upon export but when he sends it to me i'm missing whole chunks of the game. the character is missing, the animator information is gone... enemies gone, textures gone. it has really put a hindrance on our workflow. does anyone know what i can do? i mean, whenever i send stuff to myself, the package comes as is and opens as is. it's important to note that before the update to unity 4.2.1 we had successfully sent complete packages to one another.
I've seen something similar and I'm gonna stick my neck out and say they aren't missing but simply de-referenced. When this happened to me I simply had to locate the resources and snap EVERYTHING back in to the inspector.
I mean EVERYTHING
As the cost of bandwidth, you can zip the whole project rather than use a package. Consider SVN or GIT for sharing the project.
I just need to second that GIT recommendation... Damn it's good!
thanks for the support guys. i noticed an error recently that is most likely the cause of my problem. i will post it in a new answer thread though. thanks again!
