Java script option is missing from the create menu
Hello guys,
I was going through the scripting tutorial and what I found is the JavaScript option is missing from the create menu list, and only the C# script option is available. I tried changing the platform of the project and restarting the unity editor, but that isn't helping in anyway. Can anyone please help me to get through this. I am new to unity and I want to code my game in JavaScript because I'm good at it.
Thanks

Unity is dropping the support for Unityscript/Javascript. Better take a look here: https://blogs.unity3d.com/2017/08/11/unityscripts-long-ride-off-into-the-sunset/Secondly, you might have already noticed: the Unity 2017.2 beta no longer has a ‘Javascript’ (a.k.a UnityScript) option in the Create Assets menu. All we have done at this point is remove the menu item; all the support is still there, and you will still be able to create new UnityScript files outside of Unity (for example, via MonoDevelop). We’re doing this to help ensure that new users do not continue to adopt UnityScript; it would be irresponsible of us to let them invest time in learning it when it is not long for this world.
Thanks @Dragate , I totally missed that part in the upgrade since I directly installed it.
Aww come on! Javascript is so easy! There is no way I'm ever gonna learn C#!
nobody likes C# is a complicated mess im not using unity anymore unless JavaScript returns reply to this comment if you agree.
The stats says the opposite: "85.4% of all projects which are entirely in C#". C# is not complicated and Unityscript will (and should) never be supported again simply because Unity is responsible of maintaining this language and it's a waste of time considering the number of serious people using it.
Obviously you dont know what your talking about almost everyone used javascript and thanks to this update im no longer able to complete any of my projects this is the biggest bunch of bs ive ever seen and i encourage people to use other engines to create their content nobody knows how to use C# i sure dont what am i supposed to do now you tell me because all my codes i had and scripts are now rendered useless and all my projects that i had are now gone all because unity had to do a update fk this.

That's completely false. Beginners and amateurs may be used to UnityScript, but professionals and serious people making projects on the long term on Unity know that C# is more powerful.

Do you even know C++ used by Unreal Engine? If you don't know C#, don't even try to understand C++. If you take a look at this list of game engines, more than half of them use C/C++, and I don't believe the others even provide 50% of the features of Unity. So if you want to use another game engine, I strongly encourage you.

You are free to use an older version of Unity, supporting UnityScript. AFAI$$anonymous$$, Unity 2017 still compiles the UnityScript files even though the option is missing. This answer will give you a way to add the option in the Create
menu.
