Textures on different parts of object wont apply ??
I just got unity last week , and right now while I was working on a new level ... I got some models from a different website and the models have like multiple component meshes or sub parts which add up to make the whole object ( sorry, Idk what all these things r really called , noob n new at this ;; ) So I applied a texture to one part of the object and it applies it over the whole object and not only on the selected mesh .... I tried texturing different meshes and using different models but it doesn't work ... It just applied the texture to the whole object ;; Plz help .... D; n also I unlinked it from the parent main object but still it doesn't work ...

Oh god. 2016... Did you solve it? I have about the same question. I have an object with many parts and I want to texture it, but use as many materials as I have parts if not the best way(
