Mecanim - Rotate Generic GameObject and play Animation

Hello, iam new to Mecanim but i`ve made all tutorials and tried to look up my question on google, the forum and the answers, but nothing solved my problem.

My Setup: A easy Model in Blender 3 Cubes and an Amature:

The bone is linked with the small tube and the animation is only moving the bone backwards and then to orgin.

I have imported this model and I rotate the smaller cube on the (Unity)-y-axis. If i play my animation the rotation is automaticly set to 0. If the animation end, i can rotate again until i play the animation.

The right rotation: alt text

If i play the animation, the rotation cube is resetet to the startposition. How can i solve this? If you need any further information, don`t wait to ask!

Try setting an empty gameobject as parent of the rotation cube and rotating the empty ins$$anonymous$$d of the cube.

this has done it! Thank you very much! But can you explain why this is necessary? Why can`t i move an object, which is not linked to a bone? Normaly the cube has nothing to do with the animation.
