2D animation issue with Animation view in Unity

Hello,

I normally do animations outside of unity, but for this game I am trying to use animation view for simple animations inside unity. Here is issue i am having...

i have a plane with a tranparent texture attached of a gator. i am using animation view to make gator troll waters back and forth across screen.

works great in animation view when i play it back there, but when i play the scene, only the plane animates across, no texture, texture stays in original position??

Any ideas what i am doing wrong??

Using Unity 3.4 iOS Pro...
