Cannot reduce Max Size of spritesheet?
I have a spritesheet that is 2048x2048 but it is permanently stuck at 4096 max size. If I try to change it to something lower it just goes back to 4096 after hitting Apply. I know it is fine but I want to test lower resolution settings because I was scaling in-game so I wanted to see if it would look better if I scaled in the import settings instead. Any ideas? Is this not supported because it is a spritesheet?
From the look of it this seems like a bug which can be solved by restarting unity.
Unfortunately I wish that was the case. I've tried that and I still get the same issue.
What compressing format are you using? Truecolor, compressed or 8-bit(I think they were called)?
Anyway I wasn't able to figure out why it was happening, but I did realize why my sprites were co$$anonymous$$g out pixelated. I was using TexturePacker to create my sprite atlas (spritesheet) and by default it uses a Png Optimization level of 1 which I didn't realize makes the PNG indexed and look awful if you are not going for a pixel art style game since it just deter$$anonymous$$es each pixel as either being transparent or not with no blending.
Honestly it was a while ago and I don't even remember. Probably level 2 or something. For me once it had alpha blending then it was fine. Just try a few until you find one that looks good while still having a smaller file size.
