Using smooth camera follow and shaking
Hello, I'm currently using the script Camera2dFollow in Unity Standard Assets Example Project (Unity/Standard Assets Example Project/Assets/Standard Assets/2D/Scripts)
I've seen some post reporting maybe the same problem : Player sprite is shaking lagging when it's speed is high and Damping is not set to 0 (for a smooth follow effect)
Other post example : http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/812305/unity-2d-shaking-player-with-camera-damping.html http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/11139/smooth-camera-not-really-smooth.html
I resolve this by reducing in a first time the the fixed timestep : (Edit > Project Settings > Fixed Timestep)
But after reflexion, my game use physics for moving the player so I thougt it was a shift between frame update and physics update. I change the camera script to perform the player follow in FixedUpdate instead of Update. The camera follow the player now without any shaking.
So my question is : Is it ok to use the fixed update for a camera script?
If it works.
Noone's going to come knocking on your door ;)
Problems like this are more common than you think.
