I have an idea of where to begin.
Procedurally generated 'space station' texture. Ideas?
Update
So I think I know how to give this random texture generation a good go.
Basically, I'm going to assign a random colour to the UV, in regular intervals, for a random length and height. Therefore creating a coloured rectangle, at consistent intervals along the texture. I can do this for a random amount of times, and create my varying shapes and colours of rectangles, all repeating across the texture. Hopefully this will produce a fairly interesting result.
I'm slowly building up a procedurally generated space station. I was just starting to think about base textures and thought it might be useful to have dynamically generated textures.
Thing is I don't have much of an idea of where to start. Has anyone attempted something like this before? I want to create fairly simple, but nice looking textures that provide more detail and complexity to the bland coloured procedural walls I have floating around space at the moment.
Also, what about some nice normal mapped detail, to really give the flat faced walls some detail?
