Database solution networking

Hello, I am working on programing a game networked game in which I am trying to get armors spawning properly. I am using unity's built in networking. I have already gotten to the point where all players are spawned into the same match, synced animations, and movement, and chat. But what I need now is to spawn armors.

I am trying to use php + MySQL using phpMyAdmin to create tables with numerical entries that correspond to armors and equipment in game. for example int id 1 may be bronze sword. What I am trying to do is to have unity talk to the MySQL database, check the current players on screen, and retrieve the integers that they have equipped. So if player A has number 2, 3,4,5 equipped. he may have bronze sword, bronze helm, bronze, legs, and bronze chest equipped. Player B talks to the database, based on the numbers retrieved for each player near me, in my instance of the game I will equip those parts to the players, So I can see what player A has equipped. And He can do vice versa and see what I have equipped based on int IDs retrieved.

Now this seems simple enough in theory. But I am having a tough time communicating to the MySQL database to retrieve these ints. I have a row for each player, with their parts, along with a unique id, I know I am supposed to use WWW class with www forms to talk to the database, But I am having a hard time doing so. Which parts do I need to code in php, and which do i need to code in unity. Can someone enlighten me if this is the best way to retrieve values from the database tables? or is there another way. Also do you think the approach I am using is good or if you have any suggestions they would be appreciated.

Regards Zero
