Bug Reporter never launches, Unity hangs on NULL exception
I am using Unity on my Mac, and have tried versions from 4.3 to the latest 4.5.3. Aside from the issues communicating with MonoDevelop, they all also seem to have problems launching the Unity Bug Reporter.
If I get certain NULL exceptions (I believe this only happens with NULLs inside of a DLL, since most others fail cleanly), I see logs in the OSX Console similar to this:
Receiving unhandled NULL exception
Launching bug reporter
Obtained 9 stack frames.
However, no stack frames are printed in the console, the Bug Reporter never launches, and Unity just hangs there. This makes it very difficult to debug what is causing the NULL exception.
Is there any known issues with this situation on Mac, and if so, any workarounds? I'd really like to just ignore the Bug Reporter, and print the stack frames to the Console, but I can't see any way to do this. Any help would be appreciated.
I am also stuck with a similar problem using Oculus D$$anonymous$$2 0.4.3 + VTP video plugin in my project. Did you use multiple DLLs in your project that could lead to a conflict ?
In my project, I know both DLLs are using RenderTexture and I think there's an issue with that. Using one plugin at a time work perfectly but with both plugins, Unity freeze at start and let me a log without opening Bug Reporter :
error: device not found Receiving NULL exception Launching bug reporter Obtained 9 stack frames. Receiving unhandled NULL exception Launching bug reporter Obtained 19 stack frames.
Would be great if anyone have an idea to investigate this...
