How to Make Things Look Big

Hi, all!

I know this question sounds rather stupid, but it truly is a concern of mine.

In my game, you battle a massive spider-like robot. I have the animations set up and an attack system etc etc etc... My problem is that the thing just doesn't look intimidating. Now hear me out. This enemy I have created is MASSIVE in the scene view compared to my dinky little ship. Yet, it looks rather small in game.

Do you guys have any tips ( Camera techniques, angles, FoV, rendering things, placement, etc ) on how I can try to make this enemy appear to be as huge as it truly is?

Thanks! - YA

Scene view: (Yes, that little grey speck where the white lines intersect is the ship )

maybe you could move the camera a bit further away from the ship, or have a small cutscene with your ship flying between the legs of the spider robot to show the player the real size difference.

This sounds like a good idea to me. Thanks for the advice!

I don't think this will look small, once the ship is moving; because then you get a depth of field. In addition, it looks pretty big to me anyway considering the scale. If you want you can make the field of view smaller and it will make the robot seem bigger(as in it will take up more screen space) Just make sure the camera is pointing at the robot or people can get confused.

Oh yes the camera always faces the robot. So a reduced FoV?
