Mouse Aiming + Fixed Camera + Independent Keyboard Movement
I don't know if any of you guys have ever played an online zombie MMO called Dead Frontier, but it uses Unity3D. Now, what I am trying to do is get my game to play (movement wise) just like Dead Frontier.

There's a link to a youtube example if you've never played the game. Now, here's what I'm trying to do but can't figure out where to start. I've looked at the Unity3D community script wiki area and couldn't find this stuff. I'm very new to the program and would need some help on this.
As my game currently is, the player can use W,A,S,D to move the character. However, the character and the camera turn when trying to move any other direction other than forward. How do I get the camera to lock in place, never change, and have the character independently move and look around / aim just like in Dead Frontier?
Thanks in advance. ~Bloodlust
Can somebody please help me out here? If this gets done then I'll be able to complete the base of the game. D=
Really? A game where the hardest part is making the camera control script? If you hadn't already whined when someone else did, I'd down vote this.
If I could, I'd down vote this little outburst right here. -_- If it's SOOOO simple, why don't you write me a big fat tutorial on it? Yeah, that's right... you won't. Don't comment unless you're helping me out, please.
cough... dude, tone it down a bit, will you? Warwick is a big help around these parts of the interwebs~. So shutting him up in this manner won't make many friends around here. Seriously! He didn't even actually do the thumbs-down. But reacting like this you're just inviting the downvotes in...
Why he's not writing a big fat tutorial on it for you even though it would in fact be fairly simple for him? Because a) that costs time and b) time is money and c) you're not paying him ... simple as that.
Everyone around here is doing the helping-thing on their spare time. Spare time is valuable. If someone feels his sparetime is wasted (by ending up reading a question that would not have been necessary because it has been answered before), it's their right to complain about it... Definitly better than downvote without giving a reason.
Greetz, $$anonymous$$y.
The main reason why his comment upset me was because he basically called me an idiot. So if it's really frowned upon around here to not like it when you ask a question and someone goes "Really? What you're asking for is the hardest part? It's terribly easy!!" then there's something extremely wrong here.
Also, the "tutorial" question was rhetorical. I'm just looking for some good help with this, so can we cut all the crap and help out or simply not comment at all? (Another rhetorical question).
PS: I still need help with this, sorry for me being so nooby but your answer didn't get me anything like I was hoping for.

You could try this http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/27787/diablo-style-camera-and-movement.html or if this doesn't work for you search around here http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/topics/topdown.html?sort=votes

I could not answer that directly but I guess you could try to take a look from the inside at AngryBots. They do that in there. You can download it from the Asset Store.
Thank you for your time, but I'm looking for a little more of a direct answer. :P
I also have no clue who the hell downvoted my thing... :( Now nobody is probably going to look in here. If it was you, thanks a bunch... :(

To give you a start on the look-at-mouse... it won't be perfect yet, though.
