How to Move Objects from a Move Handle rather than using hit.point
So I've been digging around everywhere online to find a solution to this and I'm getting nowhere fast.
I have a target in my game that is moved via the mouse position/touch position.
Right now I'm using a Raycast and the target moves to hit.point.
Now that works but the problem is that I want a handle above my target that needs to be touched before the moving of the target begins. And right now when you click on it the target moves backwards because hit.point is behind the button. Its really annoying to move the target.
What approach do I need to take to Click on the handle Drag the Target around and Release and leave it in that position?
Seems simple but I can't think of any good solutions.
I'm not looking for exact code. I'm a pretty experienced coder. I'm just looking to be pointed in the right direction.
