Prefabs not working.
Hi Guys, My unity is acting really weird. Some prefabs in the library view are inaccessible and are shown as a blank file (thumbnail). This is only affecting some prefabs and others are fine. Before you ask. I've created various projects and all the same issues are occurring. I have uninstalled Unity (5) and reinstalled it. What's causing this to happen?
The thumbnail shouldn't be a problem. I've also encountered the same issue that there is no " preview " of your prefab to look at in your files. Can you expand your prefabs? Try dragging a prefab directly to your hierarchy and then making a new prefab file. Then click and drag your prefab in the hierarchy into your newly created prefab file. Now delete the prefab in the hierarchy and drag out your new prefab file in the hierarchy. You should be able to acces your prefab now I guess ?
Maybe your antivirus deletes them or you didn't give Unity the permission to create files (adminstartive rights)?
