Terrains are showing up as black in viewport and when running
I create a new terrain and with or without any scripts, it's rendered black. When troubleshooting I just started a new project and new terrains work fine. Any help?
$$anonymous$$ake sure you have some kind of light; check textures and verify you don't have a black texture assigned to terrain; go to Inspector for terrain, under Terrain (script) click the gear, take/post screenie
After playing with some of the rendering settings, it seems as if the new terrains are using a splatmap from an old terrain, and I cannot paint over it.
I also attempted copying a terrain asset in the explorer and that's when things went bad, if that helps.
So you are getting some parts of the Splatmap but not all. Is the texture for this terrain that corresponds to the blackness a.o.k? Have you been playing around with any scripts or assets that modify terrainData?
I use Relief Terrain Pack 3 (RTP3), and you can use splatmaps for different layers. I recognize the non black part is using a single layer splat map from a different terrain that I textured with RTP3. But it's not even using the diffuse texture I set in the terrain, nor can I paint and have any texture show up. I don't know what else is wrong, I'm not using any script when I create the terrain, that's just how it shows up now.
