2d Top-Down Weather
Anyone know a way to do snow and rain in a top-down 2d game? I downloaded the Pixel Weather pack from the Asset store, but it only works in side view.
Any thoughts?

You could use a ParticleSystem or a tiled, animated sprite. I don't really see the problem here. What applies to side scrolling action also applies to a top-down view, it's only the graphics that are different.
Here's an example of what I'm trying to accomplish. I'm a beginner when it comes to particle systems. I wasn't able to alter the Pixel weather settings for it to look correct in a top down 2D game. Can anyone point me to documentation or a thread that shows how to do this?
I would like to do it the same way as the attached picture.

The Unity Scripting API and User $$anonymous$$anual has information on virtually all the variables of a ParticleSystem
Play with the different emitter shapes and the Force and Velocity over LifeTime options. Alternatively, use a plane as the emitter mesh and emite from Triangle, and angle the plane so the rain particles fall in the desired direction.
All in all: Read the manual and API and play around with the settings.
Okay, I'll try looking at the Particle system again. Thx.
