How to make Car Exhaust Smoke?
Hello everyone, I am working on a Mobile vehicle driving game, and I need to make car exhaust smoke especially for larger vehicles like trucks. I want to have something like this;
But, when vehicle is going fast, the particles should stay behind, and when it's slower, particles should be forming closer to exhaust. Particles having a velocity of zero might work.
I am also wishing to add exhaust smoke on smaller cars, they will be less intense, smaller and whiter.
I didn't work on particles before, what can you suggest that would be performant and easy to implement? Thanks.
Do everything you can to avoid using particle systems. See http://blogs.unity3d.com/2012/03/23/shadowgun-optimizing-for-mobile-sample-level/

I used particles for exhaust effect. It may not be the best way for doing this, but performance is good enough if you don't spam particles too much.
