Particles from emitter fly away on approach

So I have an Ellipsoid Particle Emitter with a smoke texture plugged in. Looks pretty good from the distance. However as soon as I walk inside all the particles fly away from me leaving a gap around the player. What I want is for particles to stay in place and not to react to a player in any way to create a very dense fog so that you wouldn't see anything around you.

Particles don't interact by default. If they do you have probably enabled it via particle physics or collisions.

Increase MaxParticleSize, way down in the renderSettings, to 1 or 2.

That setting is specifically there to cause particles NOT to grow large as you walk close to them. If you've ever walked into smoke or fog in a cheap game (a free MMO?) and seen it get pixelated, you'll see why.

The setting starts at 0.25, which means a particle can fill 1/4th of the screen, at most. What happens is, as you walk closer, they appear to "shrink," since they stop getting larger.

Moving away from you on purpose is just an illusion. Of course, making a good particle effect is an art. Fade, grow over time, some spin ... all help.

Thanks a lot. Fixed the problem and doesn't look bad at all.
